Guacamole is a classic Mexican dish. And I love Mexican food! It’s the best food around next to Chocolate Chip Cookies. Seriously, just feed me tacos, fajitas, guacamole, and chocolate chip cookies and I’ll be happy for life.
Mexican food has always been one of my husband’s and my favorite foods. We both have Mexican grandmothers and I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to not love Mexican food with the way Mexican grandmothers cook! I remember eating my Grandma Linda’s authentic Mexican rice as a child and not much could compare. It’s still one of my favorite things to make. And eat. Of course.
My deep love of Mexican food inspired me to learn how to make the best guacamole recipe – and I think I’ve done it! I love this healthy guacamole – it’s truly divine! This recipe is going to be made on a weekly basis at my house! I hope you love it as much as I do!

However, some guacamole recipes contain dairy (such as shredded cheese) or eggs ( in mayonnaise used for creaminess). What You Need for the Best Guacamole Recipe
I like to make this guacamole in the Kitchen Aid because it mashes the avocados nice and smooth, making it extra creamy. However, if you don’t have one then it’s no big deal! You can just mash the avocados with a fork inside of a mixing bowl or even blend it in a blender until smooth!
A hand-held citrus juicer is also nice to have for juicing the lime. But once again, it’s not necessary. If you will be juicing the lime without one, roll the lime on the counter, pressing down gently, before cutting. This will make it easier to juice.
Here’s what you need:
- Roma tomato
- Lime, juiced
- Minced garlic
If you want you can also add:
- Minced jalapeno
It’s super good with jalapeno if you like a little spice! I also love it with onion, but my husband doesn’t. He can only tolerate onion in soups. He truly is such a party pooper.
How to Make The Best Guacamole Recipe
Begin by halving your avocados. Take out the seeds and then scoop the avocado out of the peel. Add it to a mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer. I recommend using a stand mixer if you have one – you’ll get a creamier guacamole!
Juice your lime and add it and the spices to the avocados. If you are using a stand mixer, turn it on and mix until smooth and creamy. If you don’t have a stand mixer you can use an electric hand held mixer or you can mash it with a fork.
Chop your tomato. Gently stir it in to the rest of the guacamole. If you are adding cilantro, onion, or minced jalapeno, then this is the time to do that as well. I like to keep the tomato, onion, and jalapeno pieces pretty small. I like a smooth guacamole but this is totally personal preference! You can do whatever size pieces you want.

The Best Guacamole Recipe
- 2 avocados
- 1 lime , juiced
- ½ tsp minced garlic
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 Roma tomato
- ¼-½ jalapeno , optional
- onion , optional
- cilantro , optional
- Cut avocados in half. Remove and discard seed. Scoop avocado out of the peel and add to the bowl of a stand mixer.
- Juice the lime. Add lime juice along with the minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the avocado. Mix on medium-high speed until the avocados are smooth. Alternatively, you may mash the avocados with a fork or blend in a blender.
- Chop the tomato, onion, jalapeno, and cilantro. Gently stir into the guacamole.
