Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:25 minutes
Total Time:35 minutes
2cups gluten free all purpose blend
1/2cup oat flour
2 tbsp arrowroot powder, or cornstarch
1 tbsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2cup plant butter, cubed
1/2cup plant milk, or cows milk
1/2 tbsp vinegar
1lb breakfast sausage
1/3cup gluten free all purpose blend
1 1/2 tsp black pepper
3/4 tsp salt
3cups plant milk, or cow’s milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Make the biscuits by adding the gluten free flour, oat flour, arrowroot powder, baking powder, and salt to a bowl. Mix together then add in the butter pieces. Use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix together until crumbly.
Add milk and vinegar and stir until the dough just comes together.
Drop 1/4 cup balls of dough on a greased baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes to 17 minutes or until golden brown.
Lightly spray a large skillet with non-stick cooking spray. Heat over medium heat and then add the sausage. Use a metal spatula to break the sausage apart into small pieces. Cook the sausage until cooked through and no longer pink.
Turn the stove top down to medium-low heat. Add the gluten free flour, salt, and pepper. Stir until mixed completely. Slowly add the milk while stirring.
Cook the sausage gravy, stirring frequently, until it thickens. It may take up to 10 minutes to thicken completely. If the gravy gets too thick then simply add an extra splash of milk and stir.
Spoon the gravy over the hot biscuits and serve immediately.
